"The space we had in our previous building was directly affecting our performance. It was impossible to communicate or collaborate. Now we’ve created a truly motivating environment. There are different areas for desk-working, meetings and informal brainstorms, as well as a library space, a chill-out zone and a kitchen. But this isn’t just about aesthetics. Before, we’d had real problems with inter-departmental working. Communication between departments was chaotic or non-existent, resulting in departments having seriously low perceptions of each other’s expertise. This was totally unfounded. It was actually our communication process that was at fault. An open, collaborative physical environment has changed all that."
